Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Server, Storage & Backup Specialist to design, install, configure, manage, monitor, support, and troubleshoot all server, storage, and backup components of the Bank’s Data Center, disaster recovery site, and other remote locations. As part of the role, you will also inspect work for conformity with specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the infrastructure platform for the Bank’s data center servers, networks, and storage fabric, including ongoing architecture, management, and business continuity strategies.
  • Lead the migration to new technologies, evaluate processing performance, and forecast resource needs to meet objectives.
  • Design, build, configure, install, monitor, and support the physical and virtual server environment across the Bank estate, utilizing various platforms and vendors.
  • Design, configure, manage, and monitor a highly scalable physical and virtual storage environment, including SANs, NAS devices, and other storage devices for the entire Bank estate.
  • Monitor servers to ensure critical updates are successfully installed, implement quotas, and optimize efficiency and uptime.
  • Monitor the Bank’s networks to ensure optimum uptime and follow up with vendors for prompt issue resolution.
  • Design, configure, manage, and monitor the data backup environment, including off-site disaster recovery, tape libraries, and file recovery, utilizing multiple vendor solutions.
  • Install, configure, test, and update server operating systems, related software, and monitoring systems.
  • Provide infrastructure support for enterprise applications, collaborating with business and application owners to define requirements.
  • Create and update documentation and diagrams for server, storage, and backup environments, ensuring audit compliance.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT security, hardware, software, and both local and wide area networks.
  • Familiarity with current trends and developments in information security, hardware, software, networking, telecommunications, and database management.
  • Strong report development skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data center network integration and operation.
  • Proficiency in network design, auditing, and implementation.
  • Understanding of data center networks, application access, and flow.
  • Expertise in network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of data networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP) and routing protocols.
  • Working knowledge of firewalls and proxies.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of complex data center networking.
  • Knowledge of network/availability management.
  • Familiarity with SLA management.
