Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for on driving growth and establishing strong relationships within the education sector. The product lead will play a pivotal role in understanding the unique needs and requirements of schools, teachers and Youth while effectively positioning the bank’s products and services to meet those needs.

Responsibilities

Strategy Development:

  • The product lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding, engagement, and retention within this segment.
  • The candidate will also be accountable with coordinating all sales strategy across the bank and to manage delivery of the work which will be done by Bank officers and third parties.
  • Develop a comprehensive segment strategy aligning with the bank’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the education sector.
  • Define target segments, create value propositions, and design tailored offerings to meet the specific needs of customer with education sector.
  • Design and implement training to sales teams to offer knowledge and skill which will help sales team to perform effectively.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop banking solutions and services tailored to the unique requirements of the education sector.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for new product development or customization of existing offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and policies while designing and implementing segment-specific products and services.

Relationship Building and Business Development

  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in schools, educational institutions, and relevant associations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the education sector.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with educational organizations to drive co-marketing initiatives and enhance the bank’s brand presence in the market.
  • Review Business trend across the market and make recommendations to progress which are prioritized using data.
  • Hold sales Workshops to develop activation strategy and business case to support sales acquisition for all products. This also includes preparation of workshop output, Risk, and infrastructure plan, detailed, complete financial model for product
  • Provide information on competitors, local pricing, and local market potential
  • Analyze new products performance and recommend appropriate actions to ensure projected targets as per the approved business case is achieved.
  • Analyze existing products performance to ensure that there are in conformance with the set objectives and profitability.

Onboarding and Engagement:

  • Design and implement a streamlined onboarding process for Education ecosystem, ensuring a positive experience from the initial contact to the activation of banking services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop educational resources, tools, and training programs that address the financial needs and literacy of schools, teachers  and Youth
  • Monitor customer feedback and engagement metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the segment’s onboarding efforts and overall business growth.
  • Regularly monitor and analyze performance data, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on segment performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

Governance and Control

  •  Actively participate or represent the Senior Sales Manager in the monthly business review meeting and address issues identified through appropriate action plans.
  • Manage the business continuity management plan for the sales.  Ensure that bi-annual tests take place and that any failures are reported.
  • Review notices for submission to local government, regulators, and customers prior to their distribution.
  • Liaise with the head of customer network on any major processing issues directly linked with asset sales and branch distribution

Requirements

Education and Experience Required

  • 3+ years of experience in sales management.
  • University degree in marketing/ business administration or related areas.
  • Able to build relationships quickly. Proven experience in a segment management, business development, or relationship management role, preferably within the financial services industry or education sector.
  • Deep understanding of the education landscape, including schools, educational institutions, and related stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop effective strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Passion for education and a genuine interest in supporting the financial well-being of schools, students, and teachers.

Essential

  • A detailed understanding of product offerings in the wider financial services industry.
  • A detailed knowledge of NBC strategy and policies
  • Detailed knowledge of consumer buying behavior, marketing techniques and evolving trends
  • An understanding of customer segmentation theory and practice.
