BRAC International (BI) is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:

Assistant General Manager (AGM), Risk Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop/enhance risk management processes, tools and templates and facilitate the identification, assessment and reporting of risks across different functions and countries.
  • Develop and maintain risk monitoring and reporting structures, including reporting dashboards, risk registers, templates and supporting documentation.
  • Lead, supervise and guide different programme risk assessment teams, country risk profile update, special risk strategic projects, support programmes for due diligence and risk analysis of new proposal.
  • Help functional leads at all levels across BRAC International to ensure that risk management is embedded at an operational level within the business and that staff at all levels are aware of and manage risk as a core part of their responsibilities.
  • Provide support, education and training to Country Management Team, Functional Leads and also operational staffs to build risk governance within the organisation.
  • Prepare periodic risk management reports and submit to the Head of Risk Management and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in preparing risk management capacity development training modules and suggest proposals for the development of the modules based on programmes/support functions/social enterprises risk.
  • Lead the risk management session with Country Management Team and enhance the country risk management through adequate knowledge and best practices sharing.
  • Travel to BRAC International operating countries and enhance the risk management activities through adequate training, awareness and workshop.
  • Work on the periodic risk profile update paper for Senior Management and Board, proposed actions update from Senior Management and Board.
  • Act as a central risk coordinator for donor and other external bodies regarding risk management.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum MBA/Master degree.
  • Finance, Economics, Development Studies, International Development or any other relevant subject.

Required Competencies:

  • Must be results-oriented with strong stakeholder management skills and ability to operate at all levels of an organization in a highly complex environment.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong relationships at all levels to effectively influence decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • The ability to manage and lead difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Self-motivated individual who is able to work independently.
  • Team player and fast learner comfortable working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in English both orally and in writing.

Experience Requirements:

8 to 10 years’ experience in Risk Management / Compliance / Audit preferably in NGO or Microfinances sectors.
